Eternal Water
A new world was discovered
and with it legends, fables and myths rumored in the ears of the old world. Sir
Ferguson was a young man from a noble family living in Liverpool, England. He
arrived to the east islands alongside Lord Noelopan Kirck. They were searching
for a myth they heard back in England, “The Fountain of Eternal Life”. They
have heard stories of a man living before the sixteenth hundreds when the east islands
were discovered. The name of this man was Crom Maori. His characteristics were sui
generis. Over eight feet high, thick black hair and half covered body with fur
like a bear. Despite his intimidating looks, he was a gentle soul to the
natives, the animals and the land. Crom was also a fearless adversary to his
enemies. The natives taught him to speak, how to use the spear and even how to
sew.
Crom discovered the
fountain of eternal life by accident. This powerful fountain was brought from
the far west by the King of Azlahan. This King was greedy and ruled powerful
civilization of wizards. The king heard about a spell only Endelinne Dent, one
of the elder witches, could do. After decades of searching they finally found
her. The news brought happiness to the middle aged King. The King of Azlahan
and his men marched towards The Rocosas Mountains. Once inside the designated
cavern, Endelinne met them. The Azlhen
gave her gold, men, among other valuables she asked, including a
fountain. They established all the treasures inside the cavern and with a spell
she made water sprout out of the fountain. Endelinne asked the men for a drop of
blood to be dropped in the water fountain as part of the ritual for prolonged
life. They used their knives to cut their right hand, including the King. One
by one, the Azlhen placed their bloody hands inside the sheer cold water. Endelinne
grabbed a golden goblet decorated with red rubies and fills it with the bloody
water.
-"Your journey for
prolonged life is coming to its end. With this water, prolonged life will be
granted..." She drank the bloody water
from the goblet. "...to myself!"
Endelinne laughed maliciously.
The King of Azlahan and his men grew mad. They
thought the old witch had lied to them. The Azlahan men drew their swords. They
were ready to kill the old feeble witch.
Endelinne was an aged,
feeble witch. Her skin had a grey toned skin, scaly and rough. In seconds she
returned to be a young beautiful woman. The Azlahan men began to age hastily.
Their skin began to wrinkle and dry. The men felt weak and out of breath. One
by one, they began to scream their lungs out until all the breath was expelled
and slowly died. Endelinne laughed and left the cavern. The men who can still grasp
a breath of life were old, weak and powerless. The King was among those men. Luckily,
Crom walked inside the cavern and saw the men dying.
-"water..." The old
King struggled to communicate.
Crom grabbed the goblet
from the floor and fill it with the bloody water. He lifted the King with his free arm, but
before he gave the King the water a sensation came to Crom’s throat. He felt thirsty.
Crom drank some of the water before giving it to the King. Suddenly, the rest
of the men died abruptly except for the king. A couple of drops of water are
still in the goblet. He gave it to the King and he got a little younger and
stronger. When the King realized his strength was back, he attacked Crom. He
thought his strength was at his peak; but the King was no match for Crom.
Crom defended himself until
he got furious. He grabbed the King’s neck and squeeze it; lifted the king and
slammed him on a rock breaking the King spine. Crom lifted the King again and
tossed him to the other side of the cavern. He was still alive but his soul was
slowly leaving his body. Endelinne returned to the cavern and saw the furious tall
man. She walked slowly towards him.
-"Who are you?"
She asked.
-"Me Crom Maori."
He said with a smile pointing at himself.
He bent down, picked a
white flower from the ground and smiling gave it to her. Endelinne smiled and
put the flower on her hair. They both smiled and knew it was the beginning of
something new. Every fifty years they reunite at the cave. Each placed blood in
the fountain and drinking at the same time they provided eternal life to each
other. For centuries they did this and stood together in battles, sharing food,
shelter. Endelinne was happy with Crom’s company. Crom vanished from the land,
leaving Endelinne alone and sad. Endelinne waited for her best friend and lover
to show at the cavern. She blamed the natives who Crom helped. Until this day
natives tell tales of an immortal man living on the south mountains and roamed
the land helping others. They called him "Crom, the eternal keeper, Maori".
This Tales lured Sir Ferguson and Lord Kirck to the undiscovered far east islands.
